The day had finally arrived for us to leave Lucaya. The storms had passed, and our friends, Rick, Jenn, and their grown children, were arriving today at West End from Florida. We left Lucaya at 9:30am to make it to West End before their afternoon arrival. We had about a 4.5 hour trip. We raised the main sail and were able to sail a bit, but since there was very little wind we had to motor most of the way. The seas were calm and smooth, and the sun was shining bright. It was a beautiful day!
Shortly before getting to our anchorage, a huge pod of dolphins swam with our boat for about ten minutes. It was incredible! They were doing tricks, jumping in and out of the water and doing criss-crosses in front of our boat. The most exciting thing was to see momma and baby dolphins swimming side by side. I wish I could capture this all better on video. You’ll just have to join us and experience this first hand!
We were so blessed to have such a beautiful day back on the water again. I was reminded of the verses from the Bible that proclaim, “The earth is the LORD’s, and all its fullness, the world and those who dwell therein. For He has founded it upon the seas, and established it upon the waters” (Psalms 24:1-2), and “The earth is full of the goodness of the LORD” (Psalms 33:5). Indeed it is!
